Anxiety is a very real and very tricky emotion to deal with and identify. The first step in battling your anxiety is to identify it, as well as the source of it. Each and everyone one of us is going to experience and show symptoms of anxiety differently. A few common symptoms of anxiety include headaches and fatigue, excessive sweating, pounding heart and upset stomach, a shortness of breath, insomnia, and even dizziness. Now that we have identified a few common symptoms of anxiety, let's talk about some of the treatments that can be used for anxiety.
There are plenty of pills and medications that doctors now can use to treat a person who is experiencing anxiety. Some of the most common medications used in the treatment of anxiety belong to the class of drugs known as benzodiazepines (also known as "tranquilizers"). A few of the drugs used from this class of medications include Xanax, Librium, Valium, Ativan, and Klonopin. These medications will leave the patient taking them feeling calm and relaxed. BuSpar is another drug used by doctors in treating anxiety. But unlike benzodiazepines, BuSpar doesn't cause sleepiness in its users and it won't lead to dependency.
There can also be plenty of natural remedies for anxiety and other emotions that surface with it. A few herbs that have been used in the natural treatment of anxiety include kava, passionflower, and valerian. Aromatherapy is another natural way to battle anxiety and there are quite a few essential oils that can be used in the treatment as well, including bergamot, cypress, jasmine, and lavender. Massage therapy and Shiatsu are also wonderful ways to treat anxiety naturally. Look at your diet to see if you can eliminate some caffeine. Avoid
stimulating or stressful activities 3 hrs. before bedtime. Try playing different kinds of music
to see what kind calms you. Eliminate as much stress as possible from your environment.
Most importantly, work on your attitude. Become a positive person.
